Clarity (Clarity Decisions LLC) is a consulting firm specializing in project portfolio management and project management office excellence. Clarity was formed in December of 2003 by Jane Walton, CPA. Ms. Walton was formerly the IT Portfolio Manager for Schlumberger, a 60,000 employee, $12B oilfield services company. Ms. Walton helped create the Schlumberger enterprise IT Project Management Office (PMO) beginning in 1998. The Schlumberger IT PMO created or supported activities that resulted in a 50% reduction in IT costs, elimination of $66M in redundant projects, excellence in project management processes, and a portfolio view of Schlumberger IT efforts.

During her time with Schlumberger, Ms. Walton was featured in numerous IT journal articles and case studies. As a result, she was given the opportunity to assist many other companies struggling to improve the performance of their PMOs and portfolio management activities. The success of these efforts led Ms. Walton to leave Schlumberger, form Clarity, and enlarge the scope of her consulting activities.
